General
The main goal of the submittal package tab is to help you create a submittal package. We want to help you accumulate all the information necessary to build that package, store that information, and build the final PDF file for you on our servers.

There are three main areas on this tab:

  • Submittal Package - this is where you create the package, add lines and documents, and build the package.
  • Documents - this is where you can search for documents to view and add to your package. This is also where the system will place documents it suggests for you.
  • Usage - Your usage area helps you see how many packages you have created with the Submittal123™ system, and how many total MB of processing our system has done for your account.

To create a submittal package you need to do four main actions:

  • Create a package
  • Add lines and line information
  • Find and place documents on each line
  • Build the final package

Create a Submittal Package
To begin, we need to create submittal package with a name and description to hold all the lines and documents for the package. See the related articles on "New Submittal Package" for more help.

Lines
A submittal package is organized in lines. Each line has a type, manufacturer name, description, notes - this usually corresponds with a specific engineering or architectural product type and information from a blueprint. A line also has a default folder for our system to look in for document suggestions. To add lines, see the specific functions relating to "Add Line(s)".

Documents
Of course, a submittal package needs the actual submittal documents. You can add documents to your package by associated them to a line in your package. You can associate as many documents as you would like to each line. You can also use the Submittal123™ to help you search your available folders and documents for the most pertinent sheets. See the "Auto Suggest Documents", "Suggest Document", "Upload Document" and "Find Document" section for information on how to access your documents.

Final PDF package
The final product is single PDF file of all your documents. Each document will have a stamp with your logo, the line type, manufacturer, description, notes, and project name. This package is built for you on our system and downloaded to you when finished.

Of course our system offers you many other functions to help with the creation of your submittal package, whether it is uploading and reading files to help insert lines quicker, our sorting features, or our editing functions. Feel free to explore the entire How To: Submittals section and look for any function you need. As always, our support group is here to help you - so don't hesitate to contact us. Thanks!
